Last-minute gift guide

There’s no shortage of excuses.

The stores were too crowded on Black Friday. Parking was nonexistent at the mall last Saturday. Your laptop has been acting funky. There are too many parties, and accompanying hangovers, to find time to shop. Carrie Underwood’s poor acting in “The Sound of Music” brought on a severe case of seasonal depression.

No matter what the rationalization for putting off holiday shopping, the harsh truth is that Christmas is less than two weeks away. Unless you’re planning to hand out gift cards and excuses to friends and family this year, it’s time to get busy. For you procrastinators who need some motivation, here are ideas to inspire retail creativity as the number of open windows on the advent calendar grows at an alarming rate.
