Stained glass to brighten bedside or dining tables

Sometimes the glass really is half full — of color, that is. Case in point: Bib & Sola’s handblown glasses and carafes, which come in a range of seven brilliant hues that seem plucked from a rainbow. The swirled designs are the result of color being blown into the glass, a tricky technique that renders each piece unique. The company, which was founded in 2011 by Kira Heuer, an artistic soul from Southern California who lives by a principle she calls “aesthetic activism,” donates 10 percent of proceeds to organizations that strive to provide clean drinking water to communities across the globe. Carafe and six glasses by Bib & Sola, $210 at Theodore & Company, 96 Charles St., Boston, 617-227-1915, www.theodoreandcompany.com
