In step with a nationwide trend among farmers, a small but expanding group of 10 or so Massachusetts cranberry growers now invite visitors to learn more about the cranberry crop. Most tours explain the growing process and allow visitors to observe the harvest. But the more ambitious can grab their waders and get their hands dirty at Mayflower Cranberries, where owner Jeff LaFleur has offered a hands-on “Be the Grower” experience since he purchased the historic plot in 2009.
