NEW YORK — After top-to-bottom renovations needed to fix damage by Hurricane Sandy, when flooding reached over 11 feet (completely destroying the Tuscan wine cellar), the Italian-American restaurant Vetro in Howard Beach is once again a favorite destination if you are visiting Queens. Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, you can dine in style indoors or in the rooftop lounge with a panoramic waterfront view of Jamaica Bay; late-night revelers can sip cocktails in the Blue Lounge. House specialties include veal scaloppine, salmon broiled with white wine atop spinach risotto, and chicken Francese with broccoli rabe, roasted peppers, and mozzarella. Dinner entrees: $19-$29. 164-49 Crossbay Blvd., Howard Beach, N.Y. 718-843-8387, www.vetronyc.com
