AMHERST — The University of Massachusetts Geosciences Department, home to the state’s official geologist, hopes that its new Rausch Mineral Gallery will give it more visibility while showcasing a beautiful display of more than 200 minerals collected over a lifetime by the late Marvin Rausch, a professor of chemistry.

The gallery is located at 243 Morrill Science Center on campus. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment on weekends.
