Tips for photographing while on safari

    • Get in position before sunrise, ready to shoot, so you catch early twilight. And stay out during sunset and a bit afterward for the warm hues of dusk, and the beginning of the cool tones of night.

    • Bring a telephoto lens longer than 200mm when possible. With new technology there are many models available from several brands with zoom lenses of 200-400mm.

    • Whenever you think you have an amazing image in front of you, turn around to see what’s going on behind you.

    • Carry a point-and-shoot for the times you want to be an inconspicuous tourist.
