GOING TO THE SUN HIGHWAY
Across the interior of Glacier National Park and the Continental Divide in northwest Montana, 50 miles with some of the park’s most stunning scenery, including towering mountains and deep valleys, Jackson Glacier, and rugged Logan’s Pass.
The sea-level, southern tip of US Highway 1 (pictured above) runs about 126 miles from Florida City to Key West, Fla., across 42 bridges, with sprawling ocean views, scenic harbors, and dramatic sunsets.
OUTER BANKS SCENIC HIGHWAY
Travels some 55 miles through the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, home to two historic lighthouses, Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge, and Buxton Woods Coastal Reserve; continue with a ferry ride to Ocracoke, Blackbeard’s favorite hideaway.
