Dinoland opens at Edaville USA in Carver

RIM GRAZULIS

CARVER — Move over, Sir Topham Hat. There are big changes at Edaville USA — and we do mean big. Dinoland, featuring 20 life-size dinosaurs with lifelike roars, opened last month at the theme park perhaps best known for its Day Out With Thomas the Tank Engine events and vintage train rides through a winter wonderland during the Christmas holidays.

Dinoland, a walk-through attraction on a paved trail through 2.5 acres of prehistoric plantings, hosts several species of dinosaur, including a 70-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus rex. Plans call for a dinosaur dig for “fossils” at the end of the trail. Other attractions at Edaville include train rides through cranberry bogs, a dozen vintage amusement rides, and indoor and outdoor play spaces.

Dinoland is the first major expansion to the park, said Jared Clemons, marketing associate, but it won’t be the last. The park plans to add 16 new rides in the next two years. Dinoland is open during regular park hours, weekends through October. Admission includes all park rides and attractions; ages 2-59 $20, 60 and older $17, under 2 free.
