COSTUMED CAMBRIDGE

Tour guides in Colonial garb are part of the scenery in downtown Boston. Now Cambridge is getting in on the act with guides portraying real locals from the Victorian era (Fanny Appleton, wife of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, for one). Starting Saturday, Cambridge Historical Tours leads six daily walking tours of such sites as Cambridge Common, Harvard Yard, the Old Cambridge Burial Ground, and the Lampoon castle. Tours meet in Harvard Square. “Just look for the man in the top hat,” says Daniel Berger-Jones, an actor and BU grad who cofounded the company. Tours cost $15 for adults, $10 for children. 617-520-4030, oldcambridge.org
