Fountain of youth? Font of disinformation

One recent morning, I overheard the following conversation outside a Weight Watchers office in Boston. It was between an older woman and a youngish man.

Woman: “So, you know my daughter?”

Man: “Yes, but you look too young to be her mother.”

Woman: “I’m not. She’s 34 and I’m  . . .  35!”
