ILANA KATZ

38 / NEWTON

> Having recently traveled in Europe with her husband, Katz was clearly influenced by eclectic street chic in this outfit, beginning with a unisex fedora (bought in California).

> She was attracted to the sleeveless top (from Urban Outfitters) because the “hamsa” hand symbol means blessing — the black and white graphic nicely echoes the lace patterning in her skirt.

> A speech therapist and mom, Katz likes hip, versatile styles for family nights out. It may look like two layers, but the white skirt with black overlay (bought in Stockholm) is one easy-to-wear piece.

> And why not add one more texture and color pop? The perforated turquoise suede flats were an impulse purchase in Lisbon.

Favorite Stores: Bloomingdale’s, Anthropologie, and H&M

JULIE CALLAGHAN

48 / WESTON

> Callaghan’s fashion sense is adventurous yet sophisticated, as in this dramatically draped black Balenciaga top (from Louis) with a sexy open split back. The elegant cut shows off her enviably fit arms.

> On the board of governors at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Callaghan has an eye for the avant-garde, like these sheer black and yellow print lace pants (from the Marni boutique in New York). “I thought if I don’t have the guts to wear them, I’ll hang them up as art on the wall,” she says, laughing.

> When it comes to accessories, this mom of three invests in timeless luxuries, like the black Prada clutch (from Barneys) and “old, old — like 10 years” black patent Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Favorite Stores: Barneys, Scoop NYC, Louis, and Giorgio Armani

LISA SCEPKOWSKI

33 / BOSTON

> When you think of eyelet, something sweet, romantic, and white usually comes to mind. That’s certainly not the case with Scepkowski’s minidress (from Fossil), made of orange cutwork cotton lined in red satin. Normally someone who sticks to basic black, Scepkowski says of the color, “It makes me happy just to wear it.”

> Though slim and trim at 5 feet 7, Scepkowski wishes she were taller, and these 3-inch black wedge sandals (from Charles David) do the trick.

> Studying for her doctorate in clinical psychology at Boston University, Scepkowski tends to buy long-wearing, classic accessories, like these sunglasses and shoulder bag, both from Coach.

Favorite Stores: BCBG, French Connection, Anthropologie, and Fossil
