    In her grandmother’s attic three years ago, Sally Pemberton stumbled upon a trove of memorabilia and writings by her grandfather, the late Murdock Pemberton, The New Yorker’s first art critic. That discovery led to a book, which Pemberton will discuss with the Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic, Sebastian Smee, at the Boston Athenaeum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and reservations are required.
