HIS PERFECT SATURDAY Some kind of physical activity, preferably near the ocean

HIS HOBBIES I love golf, tennis, soccer, and kayaking.

ADAM I got home from work and started getting ready. I was pretty calm at first, but started getting nervous driving over.

JANEL I was nervous leading up to the date.

ADAM I walked in the door right at 7:30 and she was already there. I told the maitre d’ that I had a reservation, and he motioned over to a girl sitting in the waiting area. I walked over to her and introduced myself.

ADAM She was very attractive. I loved her smile.

JANEL He seemed cute.

ADAM She seemed mostly calm. I think I was more nervous.

JANEL He seemed a little shy.

ADAM We talked about our living situations, our jobs, and our families.

JANEL We talked about how each other’s days went.

ADAM We discovered that we both went to the same college, which was a total surprise.

JANEL He was a year before me, and my roommate was from his [home] town.

ADAM We talked about traveling, our families, friends. We both like to be outdoors a lot, we enjoy the company of dogs over cats, we share similar tastes in TV shows and movies.

JANEL We were both shy at first, but as we got to talk more, the situation became more comfortable.

ADAM As the date went on, I think the pressure went away.

JANEL I really liked his personality.

ADAM I got to like her more and more as we started talking and I saw her smile and laugh. She had a lot of interesting things to talk about.

JANEL There was never a point where I wanted it to end. The food was good, pretty fancy.

ADAM The service was very good. We actually ended up closing the place.

ADAM The restaurant was kind of off the beaten trail, so there wasn’t much to do around the area.

JANEL The date ended very well. We made plans to maybe meet up again.

ADAM We exchanged numbers; there was no good night hug or kiss.

ADAM I think so. We seemed to have similar interests, good chemistry, and carried on a great conversation all night.  — Compiled by Katy Rushlau
