A Restaurant’s Take

Fattoush at Al Wadi

In West Roxbury, traditional Lebanese bread salad.

Essdras M Suarez/Globe staff

Al Wadi, a Lebanese restaurant in West Roxbury, serves the Middle Eastern bread salad fattoush with every entree, or you can order it on the side. It is traditional: lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, and sweet peppers dressed with lemon vinaigrette made with the tart spice sumac. Pita bread is served toasted and warm, sitting on top of the salad.  —  Rachel Travers
