ALLO I had the day off work, so it was hard waiting for time to pass by before the date.

KIT [I] poured myself a glass of wine as I was getting ready.

ALLO I was nervous but also very excited.

KIT I was really calm.

ALLO I kind of approached it like an audition, going into a room where you didn’t know someone and putting your best foot forward.

> TASTE

ALLO I was early, as usual. Kit was right on time.

KIT When he saw me, he smiled and jumped up and gave me a big bear hug. It was sweet!

ALLO She seemed nervous at first but definitely upbeat.

KIT We were both relaxed. I think we both gave the 30-second elevator speech about our lives and then delved into the wine list.

ALLO I grew up in wine country, so it was my task to choose our wine. We found out we were both chardonnay fans.

KIT A nice glass of wine and delicious food; what more could you want?

ALLO We talked about our families [and our] movie and music interests. We both enjoy travel and could relate to each other through our experiences abroad.

KIT I realized how much we have in common and was impressed that we got matched. Conversation was so easy. We laughed a lot and shared stories. It was a really great time.

ALLO I felt very comfortable. I was keeping an extremely open mind and was happy at the ease and flow of our conversation. She was easy to joke around with right off the bat.

KIT It was like I had known him all my life and we had just met for dinner to catch up.

> SAVOR

ALLO I enjoyed her company and would’ve liked the night to go on a bit.

KIT Allo asked to get drinks after, but I was in the middle of moving my current roommate out and another in, so I had to get back home.

ALLO We realized we were walking the same way, [so] we walked out together and continued talking until it was time for me to turn onto my street.

KIT It was a quick goodbye. [He gave me] a kiss on the cheek and he asked for my number. I obliged and went on my way. A woman in front of me stopped me and said, “I think he really likes you!”

> SECOND DATE?

ALLO I’d like to go out with Kit again. We had things in common and a good time joking around.

KIT Yes! [I] would love to go out again.
