Blueberry-oat breakfast bars in West Newton

These treats are freshly baked at the Keltic Krust.

The freshly baked breakfast bars at Keltic Krust go back to basics with oats, dried fruits, and nuts or seeds. Held together with a little bit of maple syrup, agave, and vegetable oil, the blueberry version is enlivened with dried cherries and walnuts. “Some people snack on them all day,’’ says co-owner Chris Rice.  — Clara Silverstein
