> CALCULATIONS

Michael My sister reads [the] column and would not stop telling me to apply.

Kelli A client brought it to my attention and I figured “Why not?”

Michael [Before the date, I did] typical Sunday activities: grocery shopping and errands.

Kelli I had friends drive me in, so we arrived early and went for a blueberry basil lemonade and a pep talk! I admit I was nervous.

Michael The owner brought Kelli over when she arrived.

Kelli He was sitting at a table in the corner — he glanced toward the door with that “Is this her?” look on his face.

Michael She had on a nice summer dress and was slender. I told her she looked nice when we introduced ourselves.

Kelli He was clean-cut and well dressed.

> TAKING DEDUCTIONS

Michael We both own our own businesses along with all the rewards and difficulties that go with that responsibility.

Kelli We talked about our careers — may have found myself a new accountant! He loves his sons and seven fish. We also decided his favorite color is crimson.

Michael She told me she came to Boston with friends who were at another restaurant. I told her I took the train in, since I drive a pickup truck, which is difficult to park in downtown Boston.

Kelli The atmosphere and food were great. I was in the mood for butternut squash risotto. However, it was out of season and no longer on the menu. They were very accommodating and created a risotto dish just for me.

Michael We split the meatball appetizer. I ordered the veal chop, which was delicious.

Kelli He had a great smile and it put me at ease.

Michael We both seemed concerned about future meetings due to the distance between our towns. Regardless of how it would turn out, I was having fun.

Kelli Although the conversation flowed and we shared a few laughs, I would say no as far as romantic chemistry is concerned.

> FINAL RETURN

Michael Kelli had driven in with friends who met her outside when we were done.

Kelli He did walk me out and waited with me until my friends/ride arrived.

Michael I thanked Kelli for meeting with me and we said goodbye with a hug.

Kelli It ended with a friendly hug.

> SECOND DATE?

Michael Probably not. For both of us, I think the distance is a concern.

Kelli Let’s just say he has my number!
