Council risks taking a step backward

For the first time in nearly 40 years, there exists the distinct possibility that the Boston City Council could be an all-boys’ club next year. Three female candidates are in the final election, but all of them appear to be underdogs with time running short. Why does it matter that women seem to be going backward in city politics, and why don’t more voters seem to care?
