Johnson six months ago when they extended her contract for five years, calling her creative and hardworking, while noting her successes in boosting high school graduation rates and standardized test scores. But since then, Johnson has encountered the kinds of missteps and delays that have marked her four years on the job, often threatening to overshadow her academic accomplishments. Mayor Menino says she has his full support.
