Two-alarm fire in South End causes $400K damage, leaving nine people homeless

Boston firefighters have knocked down a two-alarm fire at a building on West Newton Street in the South End, fire officials said. The blaze broke out at 11:14 a.m. Officials said everyone inside the building at 86 West Newton was evacuated. No injuries were reported.
