Hubway expanding to Cambridge, Somerville

Bikes, stations will debut in Cambridge and Somerville

Boston’s Hubway bicycle-sharing network is being dismantled for winter after an inaugural season that exceeded expectations for popularity and safety, city and company officials said. When Hubway reopens in March, the Boston-only system will cross the Charles River and pedal over municipal borders, expanding to include 20 stations in Cambridge, eight in Somerville, and two in Brookline, according to municipal planners.
