For Timothy Murray, echoes of 1999 Worcester fire

In 1999, Timothy P. Murray was a city councilor when a fire in a Worcester warehouse killed six firefighters. Today, he was the state’s acting governor when he got first word of another city fire that killed another city firefighter. He said then, as now, Worcester rallied to the aid of its department. And the firefighters did not rest until they had recovered everyone lost in the blaze. They “go in to save lives, at risk and peril to their own,” said Murray.
