Firefighter mourned in Worcester

For the second time since 1999, the city of Worcester will mourn a Worcester firefighter today. This time, it will Firefighter Jon D. Davies Sr. who will be laid to rest seven days after he rushed into a burning apartment building to search for a tenant, only to be fatally injured when the building collapsed onto him. Davies’ partner on the city’s Rescue 1 who also rushed inside 49 Arlington St., Firefighter Brian Carroll was rescued.
