2 ex-lawmakers gain after GOP battle

When the chairmanship of the Massachusetts Republican Party recently came up for election, former Representative Peter Blute considered running, while former congressman Peter Torkildsen helped the eventual winner, Robert Maginn. Now both Blute and Torkildsen have garnered paid consulting contracts with Maginn’s software company Jenzabar Inc., but they deny any connection. “It was more in connection to our contacts as former members of Congress,’’ Blute said. “I don’t know that ‘spillover’ is an accurate description at all,’’ said Torkildsen.
