It’s the question on everyone’s mind as they step outside this so-called winter: where’s the snow? Boston typically receives 10 inches of snow in November and December. Worcester typically gets about 16 inches. Last winter, the region was socked by repeated storms, leading some to speculate that we were entering a vicious snowmageddon cycle. The October snowfall this year reinforced that notion, but meteorologists are using a word, not a number to describe the snowfall amount since then: trace.
