Man, 19, dies after falling from ski lift

A teenager who was skiing with the Nipmuc Regional High School ski team fell from a chair lift yesterday at Ward Hill in Shrewsbury and later died at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, according to the Worcester district attorney’s office. The 19-year-old man from Upton was found face down and unconscious on the icy ground beneath the lift, the district attorney’s office said. His name was not released. State and local police were investigating.
