One-car crash leaves man dead, 2 hurt


A 24-year-old Brockton man was killed yesterday in a single-car crash on Route 24 south near Exit 9. The victim was a passenger in the car. The accident happened about 4:20 p.m., according to State Police. The driver, a 27-year-old Fall River man, and another passenger, a 32-year-old man whose place of residence was not given, were also injured. All three men were taken by ambulance to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. The driver and the 32-year-old passenger were treated and released. The third man was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name was withheld pending notification of his family. No charges have been filed, and the accident is under investigation.
