Proposed development: 750 million: 350 hotel rooms, 186,000 square foot gaming floor; 3,400 slot machines, 100 table games, 60,000 square feet retail and restaurant and 2,200 car parking garage.

Location: 130 Sturbridge Road, Charlton, 205 acres off the Massachusetts Turnpike

Current use: Vacant industrial site, former Westinghouse plant

Proposed development: Full-scale casino with slot machines and table games, a luxury hotel, restaurants, stores, entertainment and meeting space, and garage parking

Holyoke

Developer/Investor: Hard Rock International/ Paper City Development

Update: Hard Rock International said they are looking beyond Holyoke for a casino site because of opposition from the new Holyoke mayor, Alex B. Morse.
