It seems more than clear now and Murray show resign. Murray is nothing but a political hack who is clearly lying. He even gets McLaughlin's son a job as payback a person who was clearly unqualified for the position but was hired with pressure from Murray. No different than the Mafia.

Massachusetts voters keep getting whet they ask for.

Typical politician. Glad you got exposed.

McLaughlin,Murray and Murphy. Irish politics are Alive and well" ?

Shameless, even now. I am thinking the ultimate oxymoron is 'honest Massachusetts politician'.

Maybe I missed it but how did McLaughlin get the housing head position? Was he appointed? By whom? The Globe should be congratulated for continuing the stories on this sordid business. Most people have no clue how these political games can be played (totally out of sight of the public) and the only way the public can grow to appreciate the reach of this corruption is through details such as this report well lays out. Cash changes hands, friends and relatives are hired and public workers are intimidated into playing along (fearful of losing either favor or their jobs). The larger government becomes, the more these games expand and the deeper the corruption is embedded into the government "work" culture at large. The biggest benefit of having the private sector do as much as possible is the accountability that can be exerted over either non-performance (hire another company) or corruption (private business people are far more likely targets of prosecutors than their public sector brethren). Thanks to the Globe and these reporters for excellent, important, work in this and other public sector scandals.

Great, so Deval is backing Murray up all the way, and turns out he benefited from McLaughlin's arm-twisting campaign donations. Howie Carr is right, Massachusetts politics is all about gangsters.

Murray is finished politically. Revelations will probably get worse as the McLaughlin case unfolds. People are sick and tired of this behavior. He has zero chance of being Governor.
