Boston Superintendent Carol R. Johnson will appoint today nearly two dozen parents, business leaders, academics and other professionals to an advisory committee that will propose changes to the way the School Department assigns students to schools. The advisory committee will hold its first meeting next month and is expected to present its recommendations to the School Committee in December. In between, the advisory committee will hold a series of public forums to gather wide-ranging views.
