New video aims to curb youth violence

Survivors’ grief is emphasized

The new public service announcement is posted on Governor Deval Patrick’s YouTube channel and a link appears on his Twitter page. His administration is also urging various government agencies, police departments, and organizations that serve youths to post the video on their homepage, listserves, or Twitter and Facebook pages. The video is now on the state government’s main website, mass.gov.

So long as you can make $10,000 a day selling dope on the corner, this well-intentioned effort will go the way of others before it, down the storm drain in a river of blood. Take the black market away and the problem goes away quite literally overnight. Keep you heads in the sand, people, about what's driving the violence, and it will continue unabated forever.
