Airport arrests follow thefts from bags

Two baggage handlers have been charged with stealing cash, tobacco, cameras, expensive electronics, and other items from checked luggage at Logan International Airport, State Police said yesterday. Lashawn Fontenot, 25, of Lynn and Joshua Wright, 25, of Mattapan were arrested Tuesday at the airport, State Police said. State Police said the items stolen were worth thousands of dollars. Officials from the Massachusetts Port Authority contacted State Police several weeks ago after receiving numerous complaints of theft from checked luggage in Terminal E. State Police said that Wright had stolen property in his possession when he was arrested and that other stolen items were found in each man’s home.
