Teenager seriously injured after being stabbed in back near Boston police headquarters

A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was stabbed this afternoon in the park behind Boston police headquarters, State Police said. The boy was wounded at about 3 p.m. in the basketball court area on the Southwest Corridor Park behind the headquarters at Tremont and Ruggles, State Police said in a statement. The state agency has jurisdiction over the park. The boy was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital. State Police said preliminary investigatiion suggested the stabbing occurred during a one-on-one confrontation.
