50 join vigil held for missing Boston College student

About 50 people attended a vigil Sunday for Boston College student Franco Garcia, who went missing 12 days ago. Parishioners at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in East Boston bowed their heads in prayer as two performers played acoustic guitars and a pan flute, music from Garcia’s native Peru.

“The Peruvian, we are very much devoted and Catholic,’’ said Olga Lattaruio, executive director of the Peruvian-American Community organization, who planned the vigil. “At moments like this, we pray.’’
