Globe wins digital design awards

BostonGlobe.com and Boston.com have been honored by an international design organization for the use of data visualization and graphics to illustrate breaking news and investigative reporting by the Boston Globe during 2011.

Judges for the Society for News Design’s digital competition considered more than 500 entries from around the world in categories including overall design, data projects, breaking news, mobile and tablet design, according to Daniel Zedek, assistant managing editor for editorial design at the Globe.
