At long last, the city of Cambridge has a mayor. Councilor Henrietta Davis was recently voted to the post by her peers after a Byzantine four-month process.

Davis is a strong supporter of longtime city manager Robert W. Healy. That is disappointing news for those looking for a new era in which the city’s progressive policies extend to its own employees.
