Fall River woman struck on I-195 in Swansea improves; twin killed at scene

The condition of a Fall River woman struck by a car on Interstate 195 early Saturday has been upgraded to “good,’’ her neighbors said Sunday. But state police continue to investigate why Cynthia Clement and her twin sister Carolyn Clement, both 44, were walking on the roadway between exits 2 and 3 in Swansea about 12:10 a.m., before they were both hit by separate passing cars. Carolyn Clement was killed and Cynthia Clement remains hospitalized.
