Boston hits another record-setter at 71 degrees

The temperature climbed to 71 degrees in Boston shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, breaking the record of 69 set in 1902, as a spell of unusually warm weather continued.

The temperature matched the record shortly before 2 p.m. then edged higher an hour later. The National Weather Service has been keeping records in Boston since 1872.
