Lawyer loses bid to escape charges

US judge finds no vindictive action

A federal court judge has rejected a popular lawyer’s claims that he was targeted by authorities in a vindictive prosecution for his representation of a man who plotted the murder of a prosecutor six years ago. Robert A. George said prosecutors were retaliating against him for his representation of a man who was convicted in 2009 of plotting the murder of prosecutor Jack Pirozzolo, who is now the Fist Assistant United States Attorney.
