Graduate student struck, killed near Bentley University campus

A Bentley University graduate student from China was struck and killed by a vehicle near campus on Beaver Street Friday afternoon, Waltham police said.

Bystanders performed CPR on the 23-year-old woman shortly after 3 p.m., but she later died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, police said in a statement.

According to the statement, the operator of the vehicle, a 41-year-old man from Waltham, did not appear impaired at the time of the crash.

Police said the department would not release the victim’s name pending notification of family and the Chinese consulate. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
