Files-hunting couple sells trove to website
It is a family tree researcher’s dream come true. Today, for the first time ever, millions of birth, marriage, and death records from Massachusetts cities and towns will become available online as a searchable database on Ancestry.com. The records date back to 1620 and include such notable residents as Paul Revere, John Hancock, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin. Ancestry.com officials say it’s the most complete collection of Massachusetts vital records known to exist.
