Boston police arrested a Dorchester man Monday after witnesses said they saw him beating a woman with a metal pipe in a backyard and possibly dragging her inside a house on Mayfield Street, said Officer James Kenneally, a department spokesman. At 1:05 p.m., Kenneally said, police knocked on a door at 24 Mayfield St., but no one answered. Officers then entered and found a 40-year-old woman, who was treated for her injuries at the scene, Kenneally said. He said officers also found Leslie Jurczuk, 50, who was arrested and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
