Federal agents, State Police search for weapons cache in Southbridge

A task force of federal agents and State Police is executing a search warrant for a cache of weapons at an undisclosed location in Southbridge, law enforcement officials said.

The task force includes agents from the the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.


Christina Diorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for the US attorney’s office in Boston, had no comment on the search in the south-central Massachusetts town of about 13,000 people, except to say, “We want to assure the community there is no public safety risk.”

No further information was immediately available.
