I am a white parent with white children. My parents told me to be polite to police when confronted. I told my children the same thing. It does not matter what color you are.

I agree, Tony. Good advice for all ages and all races. However, my white kids have not been pulled over for the simple reason of driving while black. There is a difference.

The problem is, of course, that the distrust is too often times justified. I dare Yvonne and others who share her opinion to walk through the streets of Dorchester or Roxbury alone at 1am in the morning. When the young African-American men with hoodies covering much of their faces approach her, I would bet her first thoughts won't be "Oh, these are nice young men, I'm glad to see them."

This event is fast becoming another chapter in "Bonfire of the Vanities"! You would think after Tawna Brawley, Duke Lacrosse team, "stupid' Cambridge police, and on and on... even the leftist media public would be wise to the ugliness and hypocrisy of the new American racists, being the New Black Panthers, Al Sharpton, and their legion of followers, not to mention the dummy on Pennsylvania Ave.

A nation of cowardly butt-kissers, cowering and yessirring before Dim and Georgie-boy because now they've got badges and guns. Is this what the poor dead Framers intended for us?
