Mega Millions jackpot rises to $500 million

What’s worth more than the salaries last year of the top nine professional athletes in the world? More than the annual revenue of some small countries? Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot. After more than two months without a winner, the prize has risen to $500 million, lottery officials said today. That’s the biggest jackpot ever for the game, which sells tickets in 42 states, and if a winner is not chosen Friday, that total will continue to skyrocket.
