Man pleads not guilty to playing role in crash that injured state trooper in Dorchester

A man who was allegedly riding in a car that struck a state trooper in Dorchester Thursday -- leading troopers to open fire amid rush hour traffic -- pleaded not guilty today to a single criminal charge in Dorchester Municipal Court. The injured officer, Trooper Scott Flaherty, was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital Thursday morning with a fractured ankle and injuries to his back and wrist. Flaherty, 41, was released from the Boston hospital Thursday night and is now recovering at home, State Police said.
