Governor Patrick displays new confidence in second term

There has been a confidence creeping into Governor Deval Patrick as he has become more experienced in his job and announced he won’t run for reelection. It hasn’t just been the two surprise foreign vacations, but also smaller decisions such as skipping this year’s St. Patrick’s Day roast. The Democrat also displayed special confidence last week as his administration proposed a 23 percent increase in MBTA fares. It fuels continued speculation that he’s setting himself up for some future campaign.
