Maine pageant celebrates the mustache
Annual Stache Pag pays homage to creative growth of facial hair in film, everyday life
PORTLAND, Maine - Stache Pag, an annual moustache competition, has grown into a two-day bash with an international film festival dedicated to the bristly facial hair. Entries have come in from India, Russia, Sri Lanka and Sweden. The goal of the two-day festival - in addition to raising money for cancer research and organizations that support arts - is to revel in a mode of expression that organizers say has gotten an undeserved bad rap.
