Officer, other driver released after crash

A Rowley police officer involved in a crash on Haverhill Street Monday morning has been released from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries, police said. Officer Matthew Ziev, 31, was responding to a report that a had stopped breathing around 11 a.m. While heading east on Haverhill Street, police said, Ziev’s cruiser collided with a Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 48-year-old Rowley woman. Ziev was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center by helicopter. The other driver was taken Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. Both were treated and released, police said.
