Speed may have been a factor in an early-morning car accident in Foxborough on Saturday that killed one person, according to the Foxborough Police Department. According to a police press release, officers responding to 911 calls around 3:20 a.m. found a single vehicle overturned in the woods next to Route 140 near the intersection of Walnut Street. One person was trapped in the car, according to the release, and after being extracted with the Jaws of Life, was pronounced dead. Another person was thrown from the car, the release said, and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries that were serious but not life threatening. Police did not identify the victims. The crash remains under investigation by the Foxborough Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Section, and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office.
